$11 a Pack for Cigarettes in New York City?

Yikes!  Did you know that as of July 1, 2010, an additional state tax of $1.60 was added to every pack of cigarettes NYC Skylinesold in New York?  That raised the state tax to $4.35 per pack, making New York’s state tax on cigarettes the highest in the U.S.
